Hi! I am currently an PhD student in Computer Science from School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), under the supervision of Prof. Shafiq Joty and Prof. Xiaoli Li. I am also affiliated with the Machine Intellection Department (previously was Data Analytics & Deep Learning 2.0 Department) of Institution for Infocomm Research (I2R). I focus in various aspects of Natural Language Processing (NLP), especially NLP tools and NLP applications.

Research
My research involves various topics of Deep Learning in Natural Language Processing (NLP). I try to innovate and invent novel models and architectures, such as the Transformer, to enhance the ability to capture context of the language in a number of tasks. I also explore numerous techniques to improve supervised and unsupervised syntactic parsing tasks, such as using pointer network to make the parsers more accurate and efficient. My work can meaningfully contribute to the development of commercial natural language understanding related products.
Plus, I work on side research projects regarding low-resource translation and shallow parsing like segmentation and named entity recognition.
